ABOUT ME
My name is Viktoriia ( Viki) Deputat. I now live in Potsdam, Germany but my heart has always remained in Ukraine, in the city of Kharkov, where I was born and raised.
My story with bears began in 2022 on the advice of my psychologist. Like many Ukrainians, I needed to maintain peace of mind in order to help those who needed help. Little bears helped and continue to help me keep warm in myself and around me.
I make miniature teddy bears and their friends. My babies are only 2.25 inches (3.5-4cm), 2,4"(5-6 cm), 3,15" (8 cm) tall and their arms and heads are jointed.
Each little bear has its own story, its own character, and I often experiment in search of different shapes and materials to tell the story of the baby and show him in his small, but oh so cozy world.
I am often asked: "Why is there a pug dog on my business logo instead of a bear, since I make teddy bears, not pugs?"
The cute pug is of my beloved dog Lisa. (Mops is 'pug' in German and Ukraine language) Unfortunately she crossed over the rainbow bridge, but her memory remains in my heart and in my works.
