Friday, August 21, 9am-12noon - Optional Class Make an 11 inch tall Church Doll w/Tina Hatem.
Church Dolls were dolls made from hankies or pillowcases starting at the time of the Civil War. They were soft and wouldn't make noise if dropped in church! In this class we will be making a pillowcase version of the Church Doll with a modern take. The dolls will be done with fabrics and embellishments to give a nod to the 250th Birthday of the USA and its most famous revolutionary crafter, Betsy Ross. This class is appropriate for crafters and sewers of all levels, novice to very experienced. All materials and supplies will be provided but those who wish to bring their own sewing needles, pins or scissors are welcome to do so.
